Paso Robles royalty, if you're a fan of big California Reds like The Prisoner or the Orin Swift series, you are going to be blown away by the Daou Pessimist 2020! Opulent, plush, and luscious with red and black fruits, grippy tannins, and velvety texture, in crafting the Pessimist, Daou's intent was to make a big, luscious red blend with loads of dark fruit and power. Sourced from vineyards in Paso Robles, this hedonistic blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, and Syrah is aged 10 months in 60% new French oak. Rich and weighty on the palate, this wine delivers a no-holds-barred generosity of bold fruit flavors, with some lingering oaky spice. Amazing quality for the price, we've only got 20 cases left of the 2020 vintage.
"Deep ruby-purple, the 2020 Pessimist is a blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah, Zinfandel, matured for 10 months in 60% new French oak. It's scented of black cherries with touches of purple flowers, graphite and grilled meats, and the medium-bodied palate is grainy and fresh with a long, perfumed finish. This offers fantastic quality for the price." The Wine Advocate, 92 Points
