Saint Emilion Grand Cru at this price is hard to come by, especially older vintages that are within their drinking windows! Bordeaux celebrated another incredible vintage in 2016, and the best wines, like Chateau Roc de Boisseaux are some of the ripest ever, loaded with fruit and texture, while displaying a remarkable freshness and purity. Antonio Galloni has called the 2016 Right Bank "remarkably polished and sensual," with The Wine Enthusiast giving the overall vintage 97 points. What's amazing here is the is plump, juicy, and forward flavors, typical of this sector of Saint-Emilion, with red cherry, plum, and sweet spices pushed forward into the silky tannins. It's a modern, gracious, fruit-driven style Bordeaux, that's just hitting the drinking window!

Wine Advocate: 93 Points

"Bursts from the glass with tantalizing notes of Black Forest cake, licorice and blueberry compote over a core of baked plums, Morello cherries and violets plus a suggestion of cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied and jam-packed with black fruit and savory layers, it has a solid frame of ripe, rounded tannins and loads of freshness, finishing long and layered." The Wine Advocate, 93 Points
